Polyethylene is again on the rise. All of our major suppliers have announced increases to raw materials that are needed to extrude polyethylene effective early March 2014. The reasons given are tight domestic production control, increased export demand and plant outages in some major resin producing plants. The expectation is that the increases in polyethylene prices in March/April will remain in play at least until early summer.
Effective March 15th, all items will increase 5% in relation to the same item being purchased at the same volume within the last 3 months. The current pricing for custom items are tied to the volume and date of the last order. While 5% is a guide , the increase may be more or less based on the parameters in which the previous order was placed.
