Bread and bagel custom plastic bags
  • Bread and bagel bags are commonly found in plastic bags. They are most often…
    • made of low density polyethylene material
    • constructed on wickets
    • made with a bottom gusset
    • are custom printed
  • Some bakery items are found in super clear polypropylene bags

  • Many times, different varieties of bread and bagel bags are needed

    • Multiple varieties of the same basic design can be made cost effectively if the art design is created to maximize the use of common plates
    • Maximizing the common plates for all varieties and limiting the changes from variety to variety to a single color limits the overall print plate charges while allowing the volume pricing for all with a small plate change or color change fee.
    • Contact us for details or if assistance is needed in the art design stage to take advantage of the savings.
    • We have our own art/plate room for your convenience if needed.

Ice bags and rollstock
  • Currently making over 5,000,000 ice impressions/bags a year.
  • Can be made in roll form or bag form
    • Roll form: Shipped as printed roll stock to be used on form, fill and seal equipment. Can print on 1 side or 2 sides
    • Bag form: Shipped most often as wicketted bags to provide for semi automated packaging
  • Most ice bags are custom printed
  • Bailer bags also available. These are usually not printed and accommodate 6 to 12 printed 5 to 12 pound ice bags for ease in stacking and transport. They are generally made on wickets.
  • Special blends of low density resins used in making the bags/rollstock that provide the for superior seals and puncture resistance under varying cold storage and transportation conditions.

Frozen foods -- pastas, pierogie, meatballs
  • We make two material types for frozen packaging: Low Density polyethylene (LDPE) or Oriented Polypropylene (OPP). The custom packaging we offer is generally one of two types: a retail outer package or an inner overwrap package
    • The main package is commonly found in something like frozen pasta. The package is most often made with highly puncture resistant low density film to endure the cold temperatures without sacrificing performance. We make them as both finished bags and as printed rollstock to be used on form, fill and seal equipment.
    • The overwrap is commonly found in something like frozen chicken. The chicken is partially cooked and then wrapped in an Oriented Polypropylene and then put into an outer box for retail. The Oriented Polypropylene can be printed or plain and is shipped as rollstock to be used on a form, fill and seal machine.

Seafood
  • Seafood monolayer packaging is most often found in the freezer and is made with highly puncture resistant low density film to endure the cold temperatures of a freezer without sacrificing performance.
  • We make them as both finished bags and as printed rollstock to be used on form, fill and seal equipment. The finished bags are often wicketted and or have a ziplock closing feature.

Meat products: Chicken, beef, overwrap rollstock
  • We make two types of meat packaging: a retail outer package and an inner overwrap package (made from printed rollstock on form fill and seal machines).
  • The main, retail outer package is commonly found in something like frozen meat patties. The package is most often made with highly puncture resistant low density film to endure the cold temperatures without sacrificing performance. We make them as both finished bags and as printed rollstock to be used on form, fill and seal equipment.
  • Two examples of rollstock used in meat applications are as follows:
    • Frozen chicken. The chicken is partially cooked and then wrapped in an Oriented Polypropylene and then put into an outer box for retail. The Oriented Polypropylene can be printed or plain and is shipped as rollstock to be used on a form, fill and seal machine.
    • Absorbent pad under meat on tray. Under most beef or chicken bought in a tray with thin plastic overwrap is a “pad” used to absorb liquids that come from the meat after packaging. The absorbent “pad” is many times wrapped by a thin gauge high density material. If the high density material is printed, special FDA inks are used and the material is reverse printed to avoid direct ink contact with the product. The end user generally vents the material as it forms the pads to allow the liquids from the products to seep into the pad.

Cookie bags
  • Cookie bags are commonly made of hi clarity polypropylene material and are custom printed.
  • Replacing stickers on bags with custom printing eliminates the cost of the stickers and the cost of the labor to apply the sticker.
  • The polypropylene bags we can offer are not barrier bags. Please let us know if shelf life is a concern to make sure we offer the proper material.

Produce - fruit: apples, pears, cranberries
  • A variety of produce bags are commonly found in plastic bags.
    They are most often…
    • made of low density polyethylene material
    • constructed on wickets
    • made with a bottom gusset
    • are vented to allow air to escape after printing
    • are custom printed.
  • Many times, different varieties of produce bags are needed.
    • Multiple varieties of the same basic design can be made cost effectively if the art design is created to maximize the use of common plates.
    • Maximizing the common plates for all varieties and limiting the changes from variety to variety to a single color limits the overall print plate charges while allowing the volume pricing for all with a small plate change or color change fee.

  • Applications are in all markets from medical to food to retail items.
  • Low density polyethylene or Oriented Polypropylene (OPP) are the most common materials used. Material type will depend on the end use.
  • Many times, different varieties of rollstock prints are needed.
    • Multiple varieties of the same basic design can be made cost effectively if the art design is created to maximize the use of common plates.
